CBD 101

What is CBD?
Cannabidiol or CBD is a naturally occurring compound found in the flower of the hemp plant.  CBD and THC are the 2 primary phytocannabinoids found in hemp but CBD is non-psychoactive.

What is the difference between CBD and THC?
One of the main differences between THC and CBD is that THC has psychoactive properties, in other words THC gives users a “high” and CBD does not. In fact, CBD helps to make the psychoactive properties of THC more tolerable and reduce the impact of anxiety or paranoia.

Is CBD legal?
The Farm Bill of 2018 legalized the cultivation of industrial hemp, making hemp derived CBD legal as long as it contains 0.3% THC or less.

Will CBD oil get you high?
No.  Most CBD contains less than .3% THC and that is not enough to provide even a mild feeling of intoxication. CBD does tend to make some users have a relaxed feeling.

What’s better Hemp or Cannabis CBD Oil?
We believe that hemp derived CBD is better because hemp naturally produces more CBD and less THC whereas Cannabis produces higher quantities of THC and less CBD.

How to Take CBD?
CBD oil is consumed sublingually. You simply place ½ to 1 dropper under your tongue and hold it here for 30-60 seconds then swallow.

Will CBD cause me to fail a drug lets?
There is some research which suggests that consuming 6mg of THC a day means you have a 25% chance of failing a drug test. This equates to 2,000mg of CBD oil with a THC level of 0.3%. So, although it is extremely unlikely that consuming CBD as recommended will cause you to fail a drug test, if you are a person who needs to take drug test for your profession or otherwise we caution you against using CBD oil.

Are drug interaction possible with CBD?
Yes, although it is not common it is possible.  CBD is metabolized by a group of enzymes called the CYP450. These enzymes are responsible for metabolizing many commonly used drugs. CBD can inhibit the activity of the CYP450.
As always it is recommended that you consult with your doctor before using this or any other CBD products.

How long does it take for CBD to take effect?
You may start feeling effects in 20 – 60 minutes, depending on your individual digestive system and metabolism. Some people will begin to feel the true benefits of reduced anxiety, pain, stress and inflammation after just a few days to 1 week of use.

    What is the entourage effect?
The entourage effect is the synergistic relationship of the naturally occurring compounds found in the hemp plant. The cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids found in hemp have shown to work better when they are taken together as opposed to in isolation from each other. When all of these cannabinoids are left intact this is called Full Spectrum.
